Connectoma and HT Médica bring advanced functional MRI to personalize treatment-resistant depression care

At Connectoma we are taking an important step in our mission to make precision neuromodulation accessible: we have formed an alliance with HT Médica, one of Spain’s leading diagnostic imaging groups, to bring advanced functional MRI to the treatment of treatment-resistant depression.

The collaboration launches a personalized-medicine model that combines resting-state functional MRI (fMRI), artificial intelligence and neuronavigation to optimize the planning of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatments.

Neuroimaging to treat the circuit, not just the symptom

Depression is not the same in two different brains. Functional neuroimaging makes it possible to identify, in each patient, the specific brain areas that TMS should act upon. Instead of stimulating a standard region estimated approximately, the target is defined from each person’s real functional connectivity.

This approach advances toward a more precise, personalized psychiatry, in which therapeutic decisions can be supported by objective information about how the patient’s brain networks actually work.
